Next year I expect to graduate, go to another country for my first missions trip (France!), and of course, college at Liberty in August (yes, it’s for sure J ). I feel like it’s been a long time coming for all of that…but I wouldn’t have wished away this year…even if I wanted to at some points! I think every year for everyone has its wonderful points, and its pitfalls. I’m so grateful when I look back and see how much I’ve grown in a year…a lot. It’s great to see how your personal journey is steadily coming along. It was a challenging year, and a rewarding year. It was an exhausting, but worthwhile year. Every time I really needed it, I feel like God sent me a reality check of some sort to see things in a new light…or he’d just send a blessing my way. I’m thankful for coincidences and things that almost didn’t happen that helped shape my year. My fall semester without the play would’ve been a lot more lifeless and mediocre. It was really challenging and I'm glad it's over; but I do see its benefits. The highlight of the semester would definitely be my trip to LU with Mary. We had the best time and factor in the "no school" thing and it was ideal. I always say LU people are the best and we had so much fun with everyone it should've been illegal. My summer without counseling at camp would’ve been a sad break in a yearly tradition…my summer jobs opened my eyes and taught me things too. I’m so thankful that through those, I met some crazy awesome people (you know who you are, Laura and Tiff ;) ). I met amazing new people and caught up with old friends and strengthened other friendships. Most importantly, I had a very real relationship with God…real as in I was able to examine my relationship with him and see what I need to work on and how I can strengthen my relationship with him…because if I’ve learned anything this year it’s this: God is most important…but not automatically. We are lazy, busy people. We need to take initiative and run after God with a full heart. God will never ever leave us; His love never fails. It’s amazing. He works things out in ways you would never guess.

And now…a picture re-cap J

January

Ice skating with Colleen!

<IMG onmousemove="findTag && We used that term to encourage the girls to do their homework :)

So lately I've been just running out of steam for this semester. It's been grueling, draining, dramatic, complicated, hard, challenging, rewarding...and insane. It's tests and exams all the time and as you all might know, that gets old. So last Thursday Mary and I traveled down to Virginia by train after having planned only three days before. The trip took 14 hours with delays and layovers in Philly. Someone (cough ashley cough) told me there was no need to bring a winter coat...so I was freezing as they station/train were frigid. We made the most of it though and I have to say Mary is such a wonderful travel companion. We got in at 2 am, never have I been so happy to get somewhere! The next morning we went to convo (chapel) and I wasn't feeling that great so I rested in the dorm while Ash and Rachel had classes. After that, Mary and I took care of some info stuff and then went to see the Rory Tyer band play at the White Hart in downtown Lynchburg. It was such a cool place and we had fun relaxing and people watching. After that, Ash, May, and I met up with Nate for coffee at The Drowsy Poet. He's been a family friend of ours since before we were all born haha We had a blast talking and laughing and watching music vids on Nate's ipod (80 gigs, don't get me started!) and staying 'till closing. We got back to the dorm and stayed up late talking with the girls and laughing and just being tired.

Thurs pics: our "scary people in Philly" face and departing from the train station.

<IMG onmousemove="findTag && That's a first) and went to eat at The Rot again (the cafeteria which they actually improved a lot, it's a pretty happening place lol). Then May and I went back and hung out and I went with Erin, Dachelle, and Anna to pick up people for Salsa dancing which was really fun. I hadn't ever tried it before so it was really weird doing something different, but a total blast. Nate hadn't danced before but he did a lot better than I and was really brave for giving it a shot. Afterwards we all went to dinner and then went to see the play "The Rainmaker". We had a lot of fun, again. The play was not exactly fast paced but it was a really sweet love story that made everyone go "aww". We hit Coldstone after that 'till closing and then came back to the dorms and crashed after a fantastic day.

May and I post-salsa dancing, we never were able to get pictures of those who went because the mac lab wasn't "nice enough" haha

wow I can't believe that's all the Sat. pictures, when you're having so much fun it's hard to remember haha

Sun. talk about a busy day. We had campus church in the morning which was excellent...Johnny Moore spoke and he's really good. The worship was also excellent. We went to lunch and then May and I went ice skating with Nate. So I pretty much felt like a klutz on the ice since the other two had more experience than I did, but hey were nice to help keep me up instead of falling down every five minutes haha What a blast. They're also insanely good at the "take and skate" which is why we have pictures.

After that we came back to the dorms, and managed to leave in 15 min for Panera where Janine, Rachel, Nate, May, and I enjoyed Jones soda and hanging out before making our way to Barnes and Noble where we proceeded to check out a ton of music and movies 'till Nate, May, and I decided we'd like to catch Heroes that night. So we scrambled back only to realize it wasn't on that night and all the tv's were taken. We hung out in the mac lab watching youtube videos and such. We went back to the dorm but turns out we had left stuff in peoples cars like laptops and such (hey, a girl's gotta have her jones soda), and killed some time by hanging out in the laundry room and I had the privilige of meeting a few of the girls from Nate's sister dorm. I definitely decided I want to go to LU so it's kind of exciting meeting people and thinking that I could be a student at this time next year.

So packing at 1 in the morning is hardly a good idea. Mary and I made a quick project of it though and after talking and trying to stay awake, we stumbled into bed for three hours and woke up at 4. We were all ready to go, ready for Travis (our good friend haha NOT) to pick us up. It was 5:15 and he still wasn't there. So May and I are in the lobby laughing because we were so tired and stressed out. Janine comes down to save us and take us to the train station and her car won't work! We called Nick to see if he could fix it and he was sleeping. So Rachel gets up and we switched our luggage to her car, mary remembered her purse in Janine's car with her ticket, thankfully. We get half-way through campus when I realized I didn't have my ticket in my bag...I started madly clawing through everything looking for that vital piece of paper and I couldn't find it! We pulled out my luggage, opened it, and threw stuff everywhere...we were a sight, Ash in her green sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, my shoes almost falling off, Rachel and mary staying sweet and relatively calm. Rachel ran me back to the dorm, I ran inside at a speed Jack Bauer would be proud of and found my ticket right away on the desk, Ran back down taking the steps two at a time, drove like the fast and the furious to meet the girls. We thankfully found our way to the train station, which was pretty much a God thing. Then Ash let me know by stupid suitcase BROKE so we had to have the guy duct-tape it shut. Just as we checked our luggage the train pulled up. Thank you Lord. I prayed and asked if there was anyway he could help me find my ticket and get us to the train station, check luggage, and on the train in 25 minutes...he did it.

The rest of the way back was flawless. I'm a bit tired and it's kind of a weird transition getting back into all this crazy stuff as usual but I'm so excited...I will be done with school I believe by the 8th? Then HSM starts up the 7th for three weeks. Fun, fun.

Sunday pics.

2 am tiredness with May and Rachel

Panera...if Nate hadn't taken this I wouldn't have had a single picture with Ash!

<IMG onmousemove="findTag && Talk about Avril's sensitive side...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otMB3WVQNVg ]

I've gotten absolutely hooked on Heroes...I watch it online and skip the more violent parts...but other than it's easily one of the best shows on tv...annnnd Milo Ventimiglia, hello. I love how noble superheroes are in the way that they'd take on the world for you...aww.

So school is life. It's depressing just saying that. HSM is also life. We're done with the first act...I saw some of the scenes tonight and the dialogue is hilarious. We open in five weeks to an almost sold out crowd every night (we'll see if it gets there!)

I have two huge exams next week...my HACC teacher is excellent but a little too smart...I don't see how anyone can be that could at math. F&M is good as well...I need to begin choreographing my final project soon...in social news I got invited to a bunch of Halloween frat parties this week *chuckles*...I stayed home with the fam and watched a movie and ate candy. LBC is good...not so big on my professor...he seems like he loves throwing curveballs at us. If it weren't for certain people in that class I'd be tempted to skip sometimes....(97% on my map test today...whew.)

Annnd I'm tired now. November is National Novel Writing Month...so for those of you who have time...write a novel. <3Chels

You know how....

Everyone on facebook is a memeber of the group "I go out of my way to step on a particularly crunchy looking leaf"? Today it finally got cold...it's been freakishly warm and you'd never know it was fall except the trees are changing. But as I took my usual walk and talk route at LBC I couldn't help but notice the yellow and red leaves that were falling everywhere, gracing the sidewalk. I couldn't help but think of Winnie the Pooh and how fall was always "blustery" and the leaves would be flying around everywhere! (That's when Piglet got carried away!) Fall has become magical.

In other news, today because for weeks my lower leg muscles have been killing me after I dance...I dance seven days a week, sometimes more. The doctor told me I've been overworking myself and so now I have to go see a physical therapist...yay. So now I'm going to have to " take it easy" whatever the heck that feels like. I really like my F&M class, it is a lot of work though. I just shocked one of my friends the other day when she realized I was a senior in high school...she literally flipped out and grilled me about being homeschooled for 20 minutes. She thought I was an F&M student...and a senior. Wow...um, okay.

No High School Musical tonight...boo :( I shall miss my fabulous theater friends 'till Saturday. Tickets are still available, fyi.

Oh, look...time to study again and then off to class. Have a good one, <3Chels

Funny conversations with Liberty guys

Sooo college decisions are in the air...actually they've crash landed right on my head. I've completed (nearly) my application for LU and will receive my free t-shirt in 6-8 weeks.

As for Moody...I'm still on the fence...I think I'll still apply but my gut tells me I'll end up at LU.

I said to my mom today "Mom, I just realized...I have NO CLUE what I want to do." I'm not especially good at one thing in particular in my opinion...I can do a whole bunch of different things but don't think I was destined to do a certain one.

I have to say though I've had multiple really funny and random conversations with my student advisor and applications advisor at LU...my applications advisor's name is Ben, he has a really broad Southern accent, laughs easily, and reads important sections of applications really fast with great enthusiasm. "So you're still in ___ Pennsylvania." "That's correct...except you say it a bit differently ___" "Ohh I knew that." "I believe you." "No you don't." Him: "Your birthday's still on April 5th." "How'd you know?" "I have my sources!" "Ah." "If I had just called six months ago I could've wished you a happy birthday on time." "Or maybe you're just six months early for next time." "You're really witty aren't you?" "Um, no." "Modest to!" "Um..." "So you're coming this weekend for CFAW, right?" "I'm not able to, actually." "Oh, that's breaking my heart!" "I hear band-aids are good for that." "There you go again, Miss Sarcasm." "Sorry." "Well come see me--I mean us, soon, y'hear?"

Meet Michael, my student advisor..."So I see you filled out a questionaire with Ben a few days ago...he's a nice guy isn't he?" "Yes..." "You know, Chelsea some people tell me I have a better personality though." "Even without the Southern accent?" "Yes, ma'am!" "I see he's rubbed off on you." "Or I've rubbed off on him."

Oh my word, and that's just a snippet of them...who knew applying could be so randomly entertaining? Anyway, I'm actually tentatively looking into Liberty's theater programs...I'm thinking it'd be along the lines of production as my parents really would not prefer me becoming an actress...we'll see I know I want to do somethig I'm passionate about...and sitting at a desk probably wouldn't be one of them.

Oh, the life of a high school senior...remind me to "thank" the person who said that senior year is one big party...by "thank" I'm not talking gifting a fruit cake.

Just for fun...what career would you guys picture me doing? Just for fun.

Annnnnnd...I went to the Lifehouse concert last night with Mary at the Chameleon (I need to get the smoke smell out of my jeans and jacket :/ ). It was just plain amazing, they sang the classics and newer stuff. Hearing "You and Me," and "First time" were some of the highlights. Their amp gave out a little ways into the set...Jason (the lead singer) had to stall so he took song requests and sang stuff from Freebird to Michelle Branch and Avril (Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated? haha) and my favorite..."Everything" I cannot believe that wasn't on their set list. Makes me hopping mad. He sang the verse and just as it was about to into the chorus he stopped...probably could've cried. Eventually I'll probably get over it...eventually. Go here to see the pics--(even if you don't have fb)

http://hs.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2004053&l=5c12c&id=158500461

<3 Chels

HSM tickets--selling out fast!

Alright...announcement!

If you want to come see High School Musical at Ephrata Performing Arts Center from Dec. 8th-22nd, you need to order your tickets now!

I'm being annoying about this because I know many of you want to come see it and in a month or two when you want to get a ticket and they're sold out (probably) that would be a big bummer because I'd love to see you guys there. There are 11 shows and they are all selling out like crazy...we might add a few more shows if everyone can do it, but that's a big if. Guys, honestly, I think this is going to be an incredible show...the choreography is great, the dancing is inspired, the singing is amazing, and the acting is enthusiastic and real. Even if you're not a big HSM fan, you'll probably really enjoy this. Tickets are $15 and like I said before, selling like crazy. So I would go to EPAC's site: Eprhtaplayhouseinthepark.org and get those tickets so you can get a seat for the show :)

Alright, I'll stop talking about musicals now! Until my next post that is...

<3Chels

When There Was Me + You

You know this song ^ from HSM? It's simple right...Gabriella sings in a stairwell about what "used to be" (for a grand total of what--a week?) did you know that the stage version is complicated as anything? The good thing about being a Brainiac--I'm in every song but two I think...the bad thing--an un-Godly amount of music to learn...but I'm not complaining. We got rewarded with gummy bears today...it's all good.

This was our 3rd practice today...I'm blown away by what this production is going to be...nothing short of amazing. I'm blown away by some of the kids. Tuesday we start dancing (after only 3 singing rehearsals! the music's hard enough standing still!) on Tues/Thurs I'm an hour and a half late because of my college classes...so I'm going to miss three hours of dance a week...and we're already going at a crazy fast pace--yikes! I got a copy of the script today...I really wish I played piano so I could practice! Gah. Not being able to read music stinks...Kevin, one of our directors said it was extremely hard music to learn for people who read music...so you can imagine how fun it is if you can't...But anyway.

re-cap. Fri.--caught up on the office, school and work with Laura and Tiff...laughed until I cried. Sat--HSM, modern dance show at F&M...which was, suffice it to say, the strangest thing I've ever seen in my life. I really connected with parts of it--but otherwise it was a bizarre, slightly inappropriate piece...a waste of $5 but I had to do a report on it that I'm procrasinating on as I type. My sister came home on Wed. and surprised us for fall break which was awesome. So sat. night we went out to dinner and then stayed up waaay too late watching HSM2. This morning I went to church at Grace with Tiffany and Tanus, Ash, Tara, and her bf. That was fun. I just got back from rehearsal and I'm beat and have a paper to write and people to call.

In other news--the world is ending. I'll have a cell phone by the end of the week. That is a reason for happiness. Now if only I didn't have to pay for it...

Lifehouse concert in a week. Yessss.

That is all :) <3Chels
